METEO PROTECT ANNOUNCES ITS PARTICIPATION AT SAPPHIRE NOW® TO
SHOWCASE WEATHER RISK MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS

Paris, France – May 16, 2017 : Meteo Protect, a provider of weather risk management solutions, today announced that it will participate at SAPPHIRE NOW® and ASUG Annual Conference being held May 16–18 in Orlando, Florida. Meteo Protect is a participant of the SAP® Startup Focus program, which supports startups in building new applications on the SAP HANA® platform. Through this engagement, it has built a solution that leverages SAP HANA for powering its SAP-certified app, Vivaldi. Vivaldi allows insurers, cooperatives and other aggregators to provide clients with a means to hedge their weather risks through fully customized weather insurance policies.

SAPPHIRE NOW attendees are invited to meet experts of Meteo Protect in booth [#] to receive deeper insights of how to reduce their costs reduce their weather risks.

SAP HANA enables businesses to make smarter, faster decisions through real-time analysis and reporting combined with dramatically accelerated business processes. Meteo Protect created Vivaldi, an app that allows users to select their policy specifications, including geolocation, coverage period, and weather parameters, and then uses SAP HANA to aggregate weather-related data, analyze risks, and price and underwrite the insurance policy — all in real time. Meteo Protect will have an opportunity to SAPPHIRE NOW to provide demos of Vivaldi in action, and demonstrate how insurers, cooperatives and other aggregators can use Vivaldi to generate business by providing weather insurance to their clients, without necessitating any additional staff or resources. Meteo Protect takes care of the claims management, reinsurance treaty, and back office support.

“We are delighted to attend SAPPHIRE NOW® again this year and to have an opportunity to meet with new partners and clients within the expansive SAP ecosystem,” says Gabriel Gross, President and CEO, Meteo Protect. “As we are preparing to launch in North America, it is a particularly appropriate time to be able to demonstrate to incumbent insurers and other aggregators how they can benefit from our app. With it, they can provide their clients with the opportunity to build resiliency to weather risks and climate change and generate additional revenue by selling customized weather insurance policies.”

SAPPHIRE NOW and ASUG Annual Conference are the world’s premier business technology event and largest SAP customer-run conference, offering attendees the opportunity to learn and network with customers, SAP executives, partners and experts across the entire SAP ecosystem.

Meteo Protect is participating in the SAP Startup Focus program, which supports startups in developing new applications on SAP HANA. The program is an accelerator for startups focusing on big-data, predictive and real-time analytics. More than 1,800 startups are participating in the program to-date that have developed distinct SAP HANA-based use cases from gaming to retail to finance and manufacturing.
